Large, gold-plated brass reliquary of the Papal cross decorated with silver and rubies.

 

The reliquary is a vessel of worship in any shape, usually in the form of a cross or a monstrance used to store the remains - relics. Usually made of precious metal, usually brass or ivory, often covered with gold or silver and decorated with precious stones or paintings.
